What is Johnny Greenwood (Radiohead) Up To, Now?
For those who aren’t totally familiar with the side projects of Radiohead guitarist Johnny Greenwood, you might be missing out. He’s done quite a few soundtracks for film, including The Master and There Will Be Blood.
Greenwood apparently been composing for more movies, as revealed on Gibson.com:
It’s now been revealed that Greenwood’s scoring work will feature in a new film titled You Were Never Really Here, starring Joaquin Phoenix and directed by Lynne Ramsay. (Greenwood also scored Ramsay’s 2011 film We Need To Talk About Kevin). The film, which will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival later this month is described as “a war veteran’s attempt to save a young girl from a sex trafficking ring goes horribly wrong”.
In addition, Greenwood is also working on the score for Paul Thomas Anderson’s upcoming – and as yet untitled – film, featuring Daniel Day Lewis. For fans of Greenwood’s Radiohead work, the band just announced the upcoming release of a 20th Anniversary special edition of their classic OK Computer album. Go here for more details.
