There are two ways you can play the A chord on guitar. The photos show you my favorite way. I’ve found it to be easier to get to the E and D chords from this particular fingering. That being said, I don't think there's anything wrong with playing the A chord a different way, just as long as you can switch easily between them while strumming a rhythm.
